This scheme started on 1st April 2000. The various points of detail were agreed at a meeting of the Association Members in November 1998 and work to implement the scheme started soon after.

The scheme is based around a self study regime. Prospective supervisors who meet the necessary criteria are registered and supplied with the ADC Inland / Inshore Diving Supervisors Manual, a comprehensive reference manual that seeks to explain all the key elements that a supervisor would be expected to know and understand on an Inland / Inshore diving site.

In addition to reading and understanding the contents of the manual, prospective supervisors will be expected to gain on site experience with their employer and the combination of the two should lead them to a point where they feel confident to sit the final exam.

The scheme is open to non members of ADC assuming the application form is submitted by a bona-fide diving contractor working in the UK and registered with the HSE. A current list of all the certified ADC supervisors is available here

Are you currently Certificated by ADC? Are you a Registered Candidate, still to sit the Exam? Any currently certificated supervisors or any existing registered candidates - who have not yet sat the exam - can now contact the Secretary, and will be provided with the access codes, assuming their reference file is complete.
