Guidance Procedure
Experience has shown that any diving operations conducted from, on or in close proximity to an operational Merchant Vessel have the potential to put diving personnel at additional risk, especially if there is inadequate planning and coordination between diving contractors and vessel operators or crews. Across the world commercial divers regularly suffer severe or fatal injuries when they come into contact with live underwater fittings on merchant vessels.
The ADC is pleased to make available the Guidance Procedure document: Protocol for Isolating Machinery Systems. ADC Members are welcome to download the document using the link below.
Inland / Inshore Divers Log Books
ADC has produced a daily log book which is specifically for the use of divers working inland / inshore. This new log book is similar to the existing black log books (it is actually printed by the same company) but the pages on which the dives are logged are different.
The new log books allow the recording each day of all the items required by the ACoP and can be distinguished from other log books because they are brown in colour.
These log books are now available from the secretary at the ADC office. If you would like to purchase a log book or if you have other questions contact the ADC secretary using the button below.

The Inshore Diving Supervisor's Manual
As part of the diving supervisor certification scheme, ADC has produced a manual for supervisors working inland and inshore. Rather than simply produce a list of things which people required to know in order to pass the examination, the opportunity was taken to expand the manual to include many items which will form a useful reference source in the future. The finished manual is spiral bound with laminated covers and runs to over 200 pages.
Every person who takes part in the ADC diving supervisor certification scheme will automatically receive a copy of this manual as part of their documentation package however others who are not inland / inshore diving supervisors may also wish to obtain a copy.
It has therefore been decided to make copies of the manual available at a cost of £15 for ADC members and £25 for non members. As it is a book, it is zero rated for VAT and postage to a UK address is included in the sale price. To order a copy, please contact the ADC Secretary using the button above.
