ADC considers the provision of adequate insurance by Diving Contractors for employees and others as vital (it is of course a legal obligation as well) and has set up an arrangement with one particular company to provid suitable and reliable insurance at reasonable rates.
At the AGM in November 2000 it was decided to recommend the new scheme to our members on an exclusive basis.
The recommended scheme is run by Houlder Insurance Services Special Risks Limited . of Cutlers Exchange, 123 Houndsditch, London EC3A 7PQ. Contacts there are Arthur Webb, Cliff Butters and Bruce Donald. telephone numbers are 020 7870 4200 or 020 7621 1166.
Houlders offer reduced premiums to ADC Full Members and offer further reductions to any company agreeing to use only diving supervisors who hold the ADC supervisor's certificate.
Naturally ADC members are free to insure with whoever they want everyone is in business to make money after all, but reports suggest that Houlder are offering, in some cases, a better deal than other insurers. . Certainly with the recent failures seen in the insurance sector of our industry, Houlders are offering a reliable product.
We ask all ADC members, when their insurance renewal date comes close, to ask Houlders for a quotation. They are paying money in to ADC based on the level of business they generate from our members and this money ultimately keeps subscriptions down!
If there are any queries on this insurance, please contact the ADC office for more details.
